That preference is worth stating directly. “The medication helps, but I dislike planning around it” gives your clinician different information from “I tried it and could not get an erection.”

When on-demand tadalafil may fit better
You may be comfortable anticipating sex and taking medication according to that plan. Perhaps intimacy is less frequent, or you prefer to reassess how treatment feels on individual occasions. Explain that preference without assuming it automatically determines the best prescription.

Is daily treatment more effective?

In a randomized, open-label study of 770 men beginning ED medication, erectile-function improvements were similar across daily tadalafil, on-demand tadalafil and on-demand sildenafil.
